Luxury brands in Italy are actively investing in expanding local production and maintaining the image of products labeled “Made in Italy”. Following Louis Vuitton Ermenegildo Zegna Group will open a new factory for the production of shoes and leather goods in Italy. A new production facility will be opened in Parma, writes Worldfootwear.com.
The architectural design of the factory has been developed and will be built by the Milanese company ACPV ARCHITECTS by December 2026, and by 2027 the factory will reach full capacity. The number of personnel at the new production will be more than 300 people.
The opening of a factory in the Parma region is not accidental, since this region has a long craft history. Gildo Zegna, Chairman and CEO of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, said that the new facility “will play an important role as a training ground for a new generation of artisans, ensuring the continued viability of unique skills and working to maintain the special quality of Made in Italy products.”
The new facility will also serve as a research and development center to further strengthen the group's product customization offering to meet growing customer demand. The Italian group, which includes brands Zegna, Thom Browne and Tom Ford Fashion, recorded total sales of 2023 billion euros in 1,9, up 27,6% from the year before.
