For the first time in its history, the fashion brand Schiaparelli, revived in 2013, released sneakers. The shoe model corresponds to the style of the most surreal brand in world fashion. Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Roseberry, inspired by the archives of the fashion house, created a very extraordinary image - the socks of classic high-top sneakers with canvas uppers, made in the form of golden toes (made of brass).
In addition to the gold toes, there is another original element in the design of the shoes - the uneven edge of the sole of the shoe is framed by a print in the form of a measuring tape.
“This is a fashion fantasy made for the street,” said Daniel Roseberry. “These sneakers have a special meaning to me because they symbolize who I am: an American in Paris.” It represents the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the severity of French chic.”
Since becoming the brand's creative director in 2019, Roseberry has been able to introduce fashion circles and masses alike to the wonderful, eccentric world of Elsa Schiaparelli, an Italian fashion designer who rose to fame in the 30s and 40s. Schiaparelli reflected the ideas of surrealism in fashion, was friends and collaborated with Salvador Dali and Jean Cocteau and competed with Coco Chanel.
Distinctive accessories have always been a hallmark of the French fashion house, and Roseberry continues its avant-garde heritage with shoes, anatomically shaped bags and jewelry that are bolder than ever. In previous seasons, Roseberry has used gold toe detailing in platform boots, heels, mules and more.
The Gold Toe Schiaparelli sneaker, by Daniel Roseberry, retails for €2300 and is available at the Schiaparelli boutique at 21 Place Vendôme in Paris, Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Harrods in London and Neiman Marcus in Dallas and Los Angeles.
