In Italy, they developed sneakers for teenagers, the design of which allows you to increase the size of the shoe. It took more than five years to create the “growing sneaker” 4Steps, writes designboom.com.
The design of the sneakers includes three parts - the sole, thick fabric in the form of a sock and the base. Shoes can be 3D printed using flexible and durable FilaFlex plastic, as well as stretch polyurethane.
The model is intended primarily for teenagers aged 6 to 14 years. It is at this age that the most active growth occurs. By choosing the 4Steps "growing sneaker" model, the buyer can save on the purchase of up to four pairs of regular shoes that he would have to buy as his feet grow.
The inventor of 4Steps first presented his concept of “growing shoes” back in 2017, as a student, and now the first prototype of a pair has been created.
