On Monday, the anniversary collection of Portofino sandals from the Italian brand Gianvito Rossi was released. The new capsule of Portofino sandals is presented in ten metallic shades (in the colors of the picturesque resort town of Italy) and in two heel heights. The retail price of both models is 790 euros, writes Footwearnews.com.
Portofino is one of the brand's bestsellers and best represents Rossi's approach to design, which combines purity of line and fine craftsmanship, offering a feminine style that defies trends and can stand the test of time.
Rossi founded his eponymous brand in 2006 in San Mauro Pascoli, Italy, after years of studying shoemaking under the tutelage of his father, famed shoe designer Sergio Rossi.
In 2014, after Rossi spent a weekend in Portofino, a model of sandals with the name of the Italian resort appeared, it became a popular accessory on the red carpet: many celebrities appeared wearing these sandals - Jennifer Lawrence, Nicole Kidman, Diane Kruger and Kardashian.
Last year, Gianvinito Rossi, best known for his sophisticated heels and signature muted powder pink insoles, sold a majority stake to Compagnie Financière Richemont. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Rossi retains a stake in the company.
The deal prompted Rossi to expand its distribution area by opening new stores and expanding its product range. Last year, the brand entered the handbag market with the Valì model, after a series of experiments with the release of clutches.
