The Italian shoe brand IGI&Co, known to Russians for its comfortable shoes made of genuine leather, has released a new line IGI&Co Extra. It includes men's and women's sneaker models (high-top and low-top sneakers) in several color options, textiles, leather and suede, created in collaboration with GORE-TEX. The new products have already been presented at the company’s stand at the EURO SHOES exhibition in the Expocenter (pavilion 1).
The uniqueness of this capsule is that the shoes use the latest GORE-TEX membrane - Invisible Fit. Currently, IGI&Co has exclusive use of this technology in high-top models of sneakers in the IGI&Co Extra line, while no other manufacturer uses this technology in shoes. GORE-TEX membranes cannot boast of the same.
“The new GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane is laminated onto individual portions of the outer material, eliminating additional layers that can wrinkle and cause chafing as you walk. If previously the membrane was between the upper of the shoe and the lining, now everything is one, the upper of the shoe and the membrane form a single whole. In addition, there are other advantages: now you can use less waterproof material, the sneakers are lighter, “breathe” better and dry quickly,” says IGI&Co official representative in Russia Andrey Sorokin.
The new sneakers have a two-component sole made of lightweight Phylon material and rubber, which gives good grip and shock absorption, a removable insole made of the same Phylon, its bubbles provide micro-massage of the foot and stimulate blood circulation. The models are suitable not only for active and long walks, but also for sports – for example, jogging.
With the release of a new line of IGI&CO Extra sneakers, the Italian brand hopes to attract younger customers who are looking for not only stylish, fashionable shoes, but also technological ones. The avtive segment is highly competitive, but IGI&Co is confident in the success of the new capsule, since it is truly technological and very beautiful in appearance, the stylish design will definitely attract the attention of all fans of sports shoes, regardless of their age.
“We are now leaders in the casual segment, but our main buyer, especially in Europe, is 50 years old and older. We decided to expand the age range of our target audience and attract 30-40 year old consumers who are now looking towards the active segment. We studied the market, current consumer needs, what offers are currently available in this segment - and, as a result, created a unique technological product - the IGI&Co Extra capsule. It will not be produced in Italy, in China, but the design and construction of the shoes are all created by us,” shared Evgenia Kuznetsova, export manager of the IGI&Co and Primigi brands.
It is noteworthy that immediately after the presentation in Milan on February 18, the new line of IGI&Co Extra sneakers is presented in Moscow. The Russian market remains one of the main ones for the Italian company.
The IGI&Co brand today is one of the leaders in the casual segment in Italy and Europe. 90% of the brand's shoes are sold in Italy, priority export markets are Spain, Germany, Austria and Russia. This is still a made in Italy brand, since the company has its own production in Italy (Marche region), thanks to which it is possible to maintain high quality and competitive prices. The shoe factory today employs 700 employees and produces 1,5 million pairs per season.
