Milan to host Simac Tanning Tech 2025 International Exhibition
Exhibition of technologies for footwear and leather productionSimac Tanning Tech 2025, which will be held in Milan from September 23 to 25, will bring together more than three hundred exhibitors. The 51st edition of the exhibition, organized by the Italian association Assomac, will become an international platform for interaction between manufacturers of footwear, leather goods and tanning equipment.
One of the central themes of this year’s exhibition will be international cooperation, especially with Africa. A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed with the Kenya Manufacturers Association, as well as the Italian tanners association UNIC – Italian Tanners and the Italian association of leather chemicals manufacturers UNPAC, to support the development of the entire leather supply chain in Kenya. The agreement will involve the transfer of know-how, the introduction of sustainable technologies and the strengthening of local production capacities, from livestock farming to finished goods.
The 2025 programme will also include thematic areas on sustainability, artificial intelligence and skills development for Industry 5.0. A joint analysis of decarbonisation in South Asian tanneries, APICCAPS and FAIST discussions on innovation in the Portuguese footwear sector, and a meeting of the UITIC working group on artificial intelligence, sustainability and competitiveness are planned.
