International competition of footwear and accessories designers "Shoes-Style" was held in Moscow
On May 14, the Russian State University named after A.N. Kosygin hosted the international competition of shoe and accessory designers "Shoes-Style". This year, the competition featured 75 collections of shoes and accessories prepared by students of universities, colleges and technical schools training in the field of design, construction and technology of manufacturing shoes and accessories from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and China.
The show of collections took place in the assembly hall of the university. The works of the participants - collections of shoes, bags and accessories were assessed by a jury, which included representatives of the design departments of fashion companies, retailers and manufacturers - Thomas Munz, "Parizhskaya Kommuna", "Kotofey", "Ortomoda", "Vostok Service", Eleganza, the Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers, designers Igor York and Daria Detkina, editor-in-chief of the information Shoes Report Marina Shumilina.
The organizers of the competition and its participants created a real celebration of style. Collections of different trends were presented – classic, avant-garde and street-style. The dynamic fashion show introduced viewers to various design ideas and literally breathed with young creative energy.
There were original silhouettes and delicious color combinations, and students demonstrated their creative vision and mastery of working with materials.
For example, one of the most memorable was the collection “A Grain of Chaos” by Yulianna Lotoreva, where she fantasized about what other design plastic clogs could be, offering her own completely avant-garde version of shoes reminiscent of a web.
Equally original were the bags with wooden handles, shaped like folders for the works of a professional artist, from the collection “Beyond the Frames” by Elizaveta Smirnova.
Many collections feature interesting silhouettes and mastery of leather work in both footwear and accessories – the Project.0 collection by Egor Sorokin, Karkas by Alexander Grigoriev, DISCOURSE by Nikolai Malovichko and Ilya Antoshchenko.
Interesting work with color and sprints on leather can be seen in the collections “bonjour le cubisme” by Valeria Zakharova, “Blue Wind” by Arina Fokina.
Of the 75 collections (20 in online format) submitted to the competition, 20 collections reached the final in the following nominations: "Bright Start"; "Footwear"; "Footwear and Accessories", "Accessories" and 9 collections that participated in the online format.
The GRAND PRIX of the competition was won by the collection “Cavalcade” by Daria Karpushina.
The finalists of "Shoes-Style" received prizes from the competition partners, invitations to internships and employment in shoe companies, certificates for training, and the purchase of equipment and materials.
For its part, Shoes Report awarded a special prize - an interview on the Shoes Report portal - to the finalist of the competition, Yegor Sorokin, who presented a collection of men's and women's shoes and bags made of genuine leather, "Project 0". (Follow the publications!)
