Shoe imports to Russia have decreased year-on-year by almost 10% over the first nine months. This leads to both a contraction of the overall supply, in the structure of which foreign supplies account for more than 60%, and an increase in the share of local manufacturers, Kommersant writes.
According to the operator of the Honest Sign labeling system, in the third quarter of 2024, the volume of shoe imports to Russia amounted to 96,1 million pairs, in nine months - 261,6 million pairs. Year-on-year values decreased by 9,7% and 11,2%, respectively.
The most pronounced decline in foreign deliveries in the third quarter was noted by CRPT experts in the boots category: by 41,6% year-on-year, to 13,5 million pairs. For shoes, the decline was 5,7%, to 57,4 million pairs. Some categories showed growth. For example, imports of sneakers increased by 19,9% year-on-year.
