Clarks continues its European expansion

In September, British shoe brand Clarks opened its second Parisian store at 11 Boulevard de la Madeleine, a few months after celebrating its 200th anniversary. The company plans to further expand its retail presence in France.

These openings are part of a broader expansion across Europe, where the company opened or secured new stores throughout the year, particularly in Spain, Italy, Belgium, and the UK. Barcelona and Bilbao are among the latest Spanish cities to open a Clarks store, and several new stores have also opened in Italy.

This retail presence is part of a sales strategy that doesn't rely solely on its own stores. Clarks also utilizes wholesale, franchising, e-commerce, and marketplaces to distribute its collections across various European markets. For the Fall/Winter 2026 season, the brand has established partnerships with 120 new multi-brand retailers in Europe and the UK.

Clarks's aggressive expansion into European countries comes at a more favorable time financially. After several years of transformation, the company returned to profitability, achieving an operating profit of £66,3 million (approximately €77,2 million) in 2025 and ending the year debt-free. Tighter cost and inventory controls, as well as streamlined operational processes, have freed up new resources for reinvestment in products, customer service, and distribution channels. Clarks now operates in over 100 markets.
