Spanish footwear brand Camper has opened a new flagship store in Madrid, notable for its interior design by Camper's creative director Achille Ion Gabriel.
“For me, designing a store is as natural as creating shoes. Both follow the same creative logic,” says Achilles Ion Gabriel.
The new store of the Spanish brand, whose original retail interiors are as interesting to follow as the design of its shoes, is a space similar to an exhibition hall or an art gallery.
Minimalism reigns here, and nothing distracts attention from the main object - shoe models, which are located on shelves and racks made of matte aluminum. Particular attention is paid to lighting. And mirrors visually expand the space.
True to Camper's philosophy where tradition and innovation coexist, the store on Calle Serrano in Madrid represents a balance between integration into the Madrid cityscape and Camper's unique identity, explains the brand.
Known for its avant-garde style, shoe brand Camper (and its more experimental version Camperlab) was founded in Mallorca in 1975 by the Fluxa family.
The brand is currently represented in more than 2500 multi-brand stores and has 350 of its own stores in about fifty countries. The company recorded sales growth of 2% in 2023, reaching a record turnover of 225 million euros. In Russia, Camper shoes are presented in the Bootwood chain of multi-brand stores.
