Camper and Camper Lab announce the appointment of a new creative director.

Camper has appointed Abraham Ortuño, founder of the Abra footwear brand, as its new creative director. He will replace Finnish designer Achilles Jon Gabriel, who announced his departure from the brand in January after more than six years with the company.

Ortuño's first collections for Camper and CamperLab will appear in the Fall/Winter 2027 season.

Born in Alicante, Spain, Ortuño has built his career on the intersection of craftsmanship and experimentation. Before founding his own shoe brand, Abra, in 2019, he collaborated with fashion houses Jacquemus, JW Anderson, Loewe, and Kenzo. Thanks to Ortuño, Jacquemus shoes acquired their signature sculptural heels.

The footwear and accessories presented under the Abra brand can also be called experimental due to their often unconventional geometric shapes, studded details, and unexpected texture combinations. Ortuño's style is reminiscent of Camper, which also embraces experimentation and has long been a favorite brand among creative individuals of all kinds.
