Birkenstock reports sales growth and invests in production

Birkenstock continues to invest in production capacity to meet consumer demand. During the third quarter ended June 30, it invested €26 million in capital expenditures to increase production capacity and expand its retail network worldwide.

In the third quarter, the German footwear company posted a profit of €109,6 million, down 15,2% year-on-year, while revenue grew 13,3% to €719,5 million. However, despite the decline in profit, adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) showed a margin of 33,7%.

The company reported double-digit revenue growth across all segments. In the third quarter, direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue grew by 14%, while wholesale sales increased by 13%. According to Birkenstock CEO Oliver Reichert, DTC success was driven by the company's own retail stores and strong sales at partner retailers. Accelerated online sales growth was also noted, particularly in the European region.

Based on the third-quarter results, the company raised its forecast for the 2026 financial year, expecting revenue growth of 15% and adjusted EBITDA to at least €710 million.

The company opened 13 new company-owned stores, bringing its total number to 124.
