Balenciaga's new basketball sneakers, unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, are made from molded foam. The shoes fasten with a zipper covered by a Velcro flap, and in this they are similar to shoes from Nike's Foamposite line. But in this case, the signature deliberately elongated shapes and altered proportions suggest that we are looking at another futuristic creation by Demna Gvasalia.
The sneakers are available in several glossy metallic colors, including red, copper, and silver. The cream model has a mother-of-pearl finish. The designer has not forgotten the fashionable worn effect. And the size of the shoes is shown on the toes and heels, exaggeratedly raised upwards.
Since Wednesday, Balenciaga Basketball sneakers have been available for pre-order on the brand's website.
